I found an article on the thecarthaginian.com's web site regarding Mayor Brown from Tchula, MS, and have just a few comments to make regarding her current campaign. Four years ago Clinton LeSueur ran under the REPUBLICAN banner, with a limited budget, and limited support locally or nationally. Two years later, he came back and received even less support from the REPUBLICAN party, donors, locally and nationally.
Fast forward 2006: How is it that the REPUBLICAN party now have a viable and capable candidate in Yvonne Rayford Brown, Mayor of Tchula, yet it appears again there is little support from state or national GOP/RNC. Is that because the deal was cut during redistricting, to never support any challenger against Congressman Thompson?
If the REPUBLICAN party hope to gain that seat, the last best chance will be this November by providing support, endorsements, and major funding locally and nationally to Yvonne R. Brown's campaign. This should be a concerted effort by the REPUBLICANS to unseat Mr. Thompson, IF the deal has not been cut. Mississippi, and the nation deserves better than what he has done.
